New Year

Happy New Year everyone!

I am in the final stages of Articles of Discontent. It has been serialised in social Media. We are still new to social Medial, and this might be a good opportunity to follow. All our (my) social media accounts are here.

It will be published as a book when complete, through my publisher: Hera Publishing, whom I own. I will let you know about it here and on Articles of Discontent page and on social Media.

Articles of Discontent detail how I have been targeted for a few years by a number of groundless legal cases and how I was also attacked in person with attempts on my life. After severe damage to all aspects of my life I managed to win in the end after exposing fraud and fake information by the two social workers. The two social workers (in accordance with the mother) have taken their anger out on the children after their failure, and are currently loopholing the law to continue holding the children hostage. They were rebuked in court (that’s all the judge could do) but the law has to change to lift this injustice.

There will be no legally and morally questionable contracts between myself and the two social workers. They were not sacked (without respect – refer to the social workers offences according to the police and two judges) to get rehired and holding the children hostage will not change this fact. Only a complete lifting of this injustice would do.

We (I) have seized this opportunity of the progression of my work and have had some professional photoshoot sessions. So I finally have pictures with better quality. Have fun 🙂

Viral

Our Birthday celebrations are still on for the month, but we’ve gone viral.

We (I) are also celebrating the anniversary of my semi-retirement from full-time teaching. It all started in the month of April many years ago, when I had an email from a publisher who wanted to publish one of my books. By the July of the same year, I had written another which they also wanted to publish.

At the same time, I had reached The World Number 1 ranking as an author through other publications. My current full-time teaching contract with the university had one month left on it, and I had decided by then that perhaps there is no need to renew.

Many years later, I have managed to achieve independence with more than sixty books to my name as well as many other papers and articles and chapters in journals, magazines and newspapers.

This month we (I) have also launched a youtube channel, many of the videos have gone viral almost instantaneously.

You can watch, like and subscribe here https://www.youtube.com/@HBastawy

New Album: ‘H Bastawy’

Celebrating many things this month…

I have turned twenty-three… again, still look eighteen and have been flatteringly referred to as the most beautiful person on the planet… not bad for an alien hahaha.

This cartoon was made for me out of one of my pictures. I am thinking of using it as a basis for a new character in one of the books called Heidi. Happy to here your thoughts and suggestions.

I have managed to complete Around the World in 8 Days tour challenge. Not much time to get changed inbetween travel. The tour was a great success.

There is a video of it on my social media. I am still new on social media. But you can follow us (me) on all the pages here. Some of it is also to the right of this page.

My new album, also called ‘H Bastawy’ is out. I like all the songs and I have put so much effort in all of them. It has been received well. As always all the instruments, vocals and recordings are played and finalised by myself.

My Spotify is just on the right of what you are reading. You can also find it here or search for my name on the app.

For now, cheers. Don’t forget to check out the ab-flex video on social media. My Tik Tok is just to the right.

I own Everything

It is true. I now own all the rights to all my books.

This is something that I had envisaged many years ago. Being tied to several publishers through various contracts was problematic and imposed hurdles on my creativity. Whilst I am grateful to the publishers who did business with me, the editorial process has been very mechanical and uncreative.

I encountered this problem with various editors, across many of my publications. At some points the editors did not understand the point of the multilingualism in my poetry, at other points they did not see the need for the new words I was introducing. Some of these new words are now in various English dictionaries.

I gained some of the rights to some of my work a few years ago, and with that I started going through them and adding what was subtracted by the mechanical editors who did not understand the spirit of my work. Sometimes these were some words, at other times these were whole sections if not chapters.

Now I have finally gained the full rights to all my work, from all the publishers I previously signed contracts with. Some of these publications were always intended to be published as one book or one work of literature.

I have now had the opporunity with my newly gained rights to combine all the books of the epic that took me years to write into one publication as it was always intended to be, with all the original sections, words and chapters included.

This epic is published as Hexagon, combining all the books of The Hesiad and Apolliad into one wholistic work of literature. I made the illustration and the cover art for this many years ago with this in mind. This is published now with Hera Publishing, a publisher that I also own.

Hexagon can be bought here

World Number 1

Many years ago, we (I) managed to reach World Number 1 in author ranking. We (I) continued to be World number 1 for many years afterwards.

We went on to publish more than 50 books with various publishers and independently afterwards, and produced many albums. That’s of course without mentioning the co-authored books and the many articles and papers in journals and magazines.

Here’s a throwback to a beach tan from a few years ago (don’t get used to that).

The Apolliad: Le Chanson de Soleil

The Apolliad is a continuation of The Hesiad series. It marks the end of an era and the beginning of another in the incarnations of the main character of both series. The Apolliad is a series of two books, subtitled Le Chanson de Soleil. The subtitle pays homage to the spirit of the previous series and acknowledges the global nature of the character’s multifaceted lives in its polysemic interpretations.

Le Chanson de Soleil means ‘the song of the sun’ in French. I chose the subtitle after careful consideration and the choice of a French subtitle is for its linguistic, literary and historical attributes rather than for any geographical or particularly French associations. The subtitle pays tribute to other legends chronicled also in rhyme, mostly in French, about a millenia ago, as well as reflects the character’s life which spans several thousand years.

As for the title itself, The Apolliad, it is after Apollo. Apollo is a god of light of antiquity, who is also an incarnation of Horus, and a manifestaion of Zeus and Thor. In The Apolliad, the main character, lays grounds for a long-lasting empire and culminates a journey that spanned several thousand years.

The bookcover is after one of my paintings. The sun and the hawk are one and the same. They are almost one being, or several beings in a state of constant becoming or everlasting unison. The themes of the painting, or the bookcover in this case, flirt with other tales from antiquities of similar motifes albeit of a different nature.

The Hesiad III: The Herocracies

The last book of The Hesiad triology has been published. The book is the end of a series of books which took years to complete, and the beginning of a new series, with a new theme and a new story.

The Herocracies discusses the incarnations of the main character of the series in order to complete his destined task as foretold by the fortune teller in the ancient scrolls. In many ways the book paves the way for the new series, The Apolliad. The Herocracies marks the end and the beginning, the big crunch, before the big bang of a new golden age.

The new book, The Apolliad: Le Chanson de Soleil builds on the strengths and the achievements of the previous series. The main character goes through an incarnation that achieves a culmination between an ancient past that ceased to exist many years ago, and a volatile present in order to lay an anchor for a golden kingdom that has been sailing for so long.

The Hesiad (Part I)

This book is a very long journey that started over 20 years ago. Then I had to start it again, then again a few years ago. Eventually I managed to put it together last year from pieces, notes and miscellaneous writings. It was a tough process, but the book or part I of the trilogy is published now.

I still don’t know what all the controversy that surrounded the time before the publication is based on.

From the press release:

‘Rich, powerful and lyrical verse inspired by the mythical origins of the gods of Egypt. The book traces the return of the ancient Egyptian god, Horus, in human form after an ancient battle and how he navigates his way through contemporary life through a series of incarnations. This is the first book in a trilogy.’

Available online at most book stores.
